" The most beautiful gardens"

The gardens of Marqueyssac -

Listed as a National Historical Monument, the romantic and picturesque Marqueyssac Gardens offer over 6km of pathways surrounded by over 150 000 hand-pruned boxwoods. Situated on a rocky spur, the viewpoint offers one of the most impressive panoramic views of the valley and it’s many châteaux.

The gardens of the Manoir Eyrignac -

Set high in the Périgord Noir, very close to Sarlat, discover 10 hectares of sculpted plants. A unique example of Topiary Art in France, with new & always more colourful worlds: visit the 7 gardens & enjoy a nature walk on the 200-hectare forestry estate.

" Caves and Caverns"

The Lascaux Caves -

Covered in an incredibly beautiful display of pre-historic paintings and engravings.  The colours of the walls are absolutely gorgeous, deep red, rich ochre & black being the dominant tints. The pictures are beautifully painted & show a sense of perspective and movement.

( 45 mins from Dordogne Glamping )

The Chasm of Proumeyssac -

The source of many legends since the 18th century, the Proumeyssac chasm is the largest developed cave in the Périgord. It is naturally adorned with impressive limestone concretions, highlighted by sound and light effects. Its visit, which lasts about 45 minutes, can be done on foot or in a mechanical rotation gondola.

"The most beautiful villages in France"

Sarlat-la-Canéda -

The most famous town in the region & one of the most renowned & visited in France. It is also one of the most attractive.  Go to the Tourist information for guided tours.

If you like markets, then Sarlat won"t disappoint, its one kilometer long !!

( 25 mins from Dordogne Glamping )

Le Roque-Gageac -

One of France's most beautiful villages. In a stunning position on the north bank of the Dordogne River, & backed by a steep cliff, with little to suggest that much has changed there in the last 300 years. A truly perfect picture postcard village.

(15 mins from Dordogne Glamping )

Domme -

Domme surely has the best view over the Dordogne valley of any village.  It has a little tourist 'train', the Domme Express which is very popular with children.  A bonus is the cave system that sits right underneath the main square.

( 18 mins from Dordogne Glamping )

Beynac-et-Cazenac -

This pretty village spreads along the northern bank of the Dordogne river & up the hill to the castle thats poised above the village & river. The narrow lanes wind up through the traditional Dordogne white & yellow stone buildings- best seen at sunrise if you are up and about early!

(20 mins from Dordogne Glamping )

Rocamadour -

The lovely village of Rocamadour is across the border from the Dordogne into the Lot department.  Rocamadour is one of the Grand Sites of France. It was also voted 'the favourite village of the French 2016' . It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site
